An Indian citizen's eligibility for the posts of "Assistant Professor" and "Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor" in Indian universities and colleges is determined by the UGC-NET exam, which is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Twice a year, the UGC-NET exam is administered. Due to the cancellation of the December 2021 UGC-NET due to COVID-19, the June 2022 UGC-NET timetable has been postponed. The UGC-NET of December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) have been combined with the National Testing Agency's (NTA) permission so that they may be administered concurrently in CBT Mode. This was done to make the UGC-NET Exam cycles more predictable. NTA UGC NET candidates may be instructed offline or online by a UGC NET qualified candidate. Successful applicants are qualified for the jobs of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellow and Assistant Professor based on their performance on the National Eligibility Test. Three hours are allotted for the exam.
